Peripheral Arterial Disease Atlas Overview
On-Demand Resource for Profiling Peripheral Arterial Disease
What Is the PAD Atlas?
The Peripheral Arterial Disease Atlas (PAD Atlas) provides on-demand capacity for evaluating the prevalence of diagnosed PAD nationwide, by state, and by city as well as by age, gender, and race/ethnicity. Users may create customized maps depicting PAD prevalence to support educational, advocacy, and public-affairs initiatives.
Why the PAD Atlas?
PAD is estimated to affect more than five million people in the United States.[1] PAD prevalence increases dramatically with age and has been associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease. The purpose of the PAD Atlas is to increase awareness about the prevalence of PAD in communities around the country as well as to identify population groups that may be most affected.
What Do the PAD Atlas Maps Show?
Users may generate color-coded maps that depict national, state, county, and city PAD prevalence. PAD prevalence may be further differentiated by age, gender, and race/ethnicity.
